Hello, I am very new to fink. I am trying to install coot, however I have
cam across a perl issue. I did a selfupdate, however I receive the same
error.
Attention!

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and try again.
If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the FAQ on Fink's
website solves the problem. If not, ask on one of these mailing lists:
The Fink Users List <[email protected]>
The Fink Beginners List <[email protected]>.
Please try to include the complete error message in your report. This
generally consists of a compiler line starting with e.g. "gcc" or "g++"
followed by the actual error output from the compiler.
Also include the following system information:
Package manager version: 0.31.0
Distribution version: selfupdate-cvs Thu Jul 28 20:51:08 2011, 10.5, x86_64
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto unstable/main unstable/crypto
Xcode Version: 3.1.2-1
Macintosh HD
When I check for what version of perl fink believes is installed.
Package: system-perl
Status: purge ok not-installed
Version: 0-0
homepage: http://www.finkproject.org/faq/usage-general.php#virtpackage
description: [virtual package representing perl]
However, when I check /user/bin/perl
the only perl is in bin is version 5.8.8. Is this a result of not running os
x 10.6 and installing 64 bit only as opposed to default fink.
Thanks
Forest
