Please know I have utmost respect and appreciation for everyone working on
Fink.  I am very grateful for this project.  The gcc (which is the one from
Apple) says -V requires an argument, but in the configure script there was
none provided, so I got errors every time it was called.  It seemed to me
to be just a typo.

This is hopefully good news.  I'll give it a go ASAP.  I feel it's
appropriate to repeat that I started from a clean Apple Xcode 4.2.1 install
in the first place.  So, I'm not optimistic that repeating
the exercise will make any difference.  Thanks again for your help.
