Yet another fink newbie to contend with. My apologies. I recently upgraded
fink, then tried updating xfig, but ran into trouble with fontconfig2-dev
needing expat (at least I am guessing that is what has happened). Some
relevant system data:

I think this is where the error occurs:

I am not sure how or where to use the option --enable-libxml2 if that is what
