Hi Alexander,
I am a bit of a novice in dealing with open help sites
and am not sure of the etiquette in responding to a third party e-mail so if I
have got it wrong I apologise.
Like David Altimira I have been trying to install Octave on my MacBook
Pro running Mac Os X version 10.8.3 and have recently encountered the same
problem that David reported here viz failure of graphviz to install.
I have tried to apply your workaround but I am not really confident
that I am doing it correctly. I followed the first link using Safari and
obtained a text listing of version 3.12.1 of the "ocaml" package. Is the
intention to simply replace the existing (4.00.1 version) of "ocaml.info" with
the older 3.12.1 version or is there more to it than that? What do I need to do
with "ocaml.patch"?
I am relatively unfamiliar with Unix and have been attempting to find
the relevant directory locations using Finder but find that when I try to
access "/sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo" I automatically get
"/sw/fink/10.7/local/main/finkinfo" i.e. "dists' is replaced by "10.7". (
Within Finder "dists" is shown as an alias.) Is this correct?
Thanks for any help or advice you can offer,
Mick Farmer
