Fink doesn’t install an app.  It’s a command-line tool.  

Does the terminal respond “fink: command not found"?  If so there are a couple 
of things to try:

1)  Open a new terminal window.  The installation process doesn’t change the 
environment of a running terminal session, so it won’t know about fink.
2)  If that doesn’t work, try running /sw/bin/pathsetup.sh in your terminal 
window.  That will set up Fink’s environment.  Then open a new terminal.
