Ahh. It looks like xfree86-base is now providing the GL stuff, not xfree86-server. So the "Provides: libgl" should now be in the base package. However, xfree86-rootless used to provide libgl, so unless I have the base package replace xfree86-rootless, you won't be able to install the new base package. I don't think we want to do that, though. As you can probably tell, I don't know what the optimal solution is here. Ideas anyone?
The brute force solution is to force-remove xfree86-rootless (using dpkg --force-depends --remove), before installing xfree96-base-4.2.0 and xfree86-server-4.2.0, but this should only be a last resort. -Jeff On Wed, 23 Jan 2002, Daniel E.
