Just wanted to follow up. I'm not sure what happened, but it appears the problem is with my setup. There are a bunch of errors during the build process along the lines of:
pbxbuild -target XDarwin -buildstyle Deployment dyld: pbxbuild can't open library: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/JavaKit.framework/Versions/A/JavaKit (No such file or directory, errno = 2) gnumake[5]: *** [XDarwin] Error 60 I'm not sure why the JavaKit file doesn't exist, but I'm sure once I fix that, the XFree problems will go away.
