I thought this error was fixed for gift in cvs. (and indeed when I look in 10.2/unstable it seems to be so). db41 and db4 are binary incompatible, the new name is necessary to avoid people having to rebuild everything linked against libdb-4 (although I made a mistake at first and committed it as db4 to the 10.2/unstable tree, that is fixed now).
