Well I've just whipped up a document window with some fields in Interface Builder. I'm going to look see if I can steal^h^h^h^h^h^h borrow some code from FinkCommander.

Have you looked at Camelbones (camelbones.sf.net)? It's an interesting little library that allows one to either write a cocoa-gui for perl programs, or to call perl functions from objective-c programs. Might be nice to have tighter interface between the Fink perl libraies and you program than what FinkCommander uses.
