Well I went through the up-date process again and I sure don't get what
you have:

[localhost:~/Download/fink/fink-0.11.0] lichtner% sudo ./update-fink.sh
It seems this does not always work as intended.

/sw/bin/fink install fink
I think this is the bug. If you already have fink-0.11, then this will not reinstall fink, and the actual upgrade script will not be run. Your fink installation is *not* upgraded to 10.2.

I am forwarding this to fink-devel, because this is the second case in recent days when the new upgrade procedure did not work, and I have no time any more now to really find out why this is so. Maybe someone else can talk you through this.

Reading package info...
Updating package index... done.
Information about 1461 packages read in 11 seconds.

No packages to install.
Fink should have been reinstalled, and this would have created the 10.2 hierarchy. If you find it, you can run the postinstall.pl.in script by hand, and this should do the actual upgrade.

Your Fink installation in '/sw' was updated with a new fink package.

This seems not to be the case.
