Hi
I,ve installed the postgresql package from the 1.2/unstable tree, but
unfortunately the configuration choose by the package maintainer
doesn't match my needs
I need Java, and I don't want a bunch of other options there included
(tlc ecc) that have also really deep dependencies, I've to install X,
and many other packages that I don't want installed.
I can create a new package, call it postgresql-wo (wo stands for
WebObjects since that is the purpose of this package) or any other
name, configure it accordingly and install it
but tomorrow I could need yet another different configuration and the
permutations of the various options could yield to a fairy large number
of different packages, each one replaces and conflicts with any other,
so the creation of the nth package requires modifications in every
other.
is there a proper way to deal with this problem?
apologies for my english, but is the only I have :-)
