The discussion earlier, plus some private emails I received, got me thinking some more about what Fink needs at this point.
Actually, it's not *just* that we need volunteers; we need a more effective way of using the talents of people who are willing to volunteer. Just to give one example: the way that most of us in the Fink developer group got there was that we made some packages, submitted them to Fink, and eventually it became less trouble for the Fink-ers to give us commit access than to process our submissions. That procedure is not working so well right now, because the current Fink developers haven't found the time to keep up with all of the submissions. This means that the talents of many people are going unrecognized and unacknowledged, and of course after a while they drop out. Please don't drop out, if this describes you!
