What have folks been generally using to produce PDF from their docbook
SGML?

I have typically been using docbook2pdf on my linux box. Now that I spend
more writing time on OSX I managed to port the docbook-utils and jadetex
over to fink manually with a little bit of tweaking. The
docbook-utils proj only really
seemed to support RHL at last look but the changeover
is trivial - a couple of simlinks of pdfjatex and paths set to
%FINKROOT%/share/sgml/docbook

I'm not entirely sure how to code up all the changes within a fink .info
however as it seems a little more than just patches to the makefiles.

Anyways, I have things working on my own but wanted to share in the event
other people needed something like this (and I didn't just overlook a
pre-existing fink docbooks sgml -> pdf system). I can try and put
together a fink pkg and/or explain things to any interested fink dev.

BTW This seems to work much more stably than the Omega Project docbook2pdf
where I had tons of problem with FOP.

Best,
