There are almost no situations I can imagine that might warrant an
exception of this rule, i.e. something which can't wait a couple more
hours. I can't recall any such situation throughout the history of
Fink in fact, but anybody feel free to refresh my memory :-)
much prefer, that people do not post to the fink-devel list, but send
the announcement to me. After I have verified the information in the
Mail and maybe even talked to the author I would pass it on to one of
you lead developers. That way we can a) avoid big discussions and b)
one dedicated person can guarantee that the announcement will be taken
care off. (namely me).
THe next thing that would be beneficial to this setup, is the fact,
that over the last few announces the news contacts I have no have come
to understand who I am, what I am doing. News sites also prefer to
receive their information from a fixed source, in this particular case
it would be me. The additional amount of work is nothing I am afraid
of. On the contrary, I am looking forward to it.
So, it is your decision, either way I am happy to be of some help.
