I meant "things that I could use to do neat stuff with an autoupdating mirror".
So, you don't mean "feature for the mirror" but rather "things I could do on the server with the mirror files" ? Why don't you write that in the first place then :-)
* Ability to refetch packages with invalid MD5 sums. * A command to return the email address of a package's maintainer.
Uhh especially here. Think spam abuse. Plus you must get the permission of all maintainers if you want to publish their email address somehow. I have no clue what you actually meant here, though, hence before I say anything more i'll wait for you to clarify it.
Hmm, true. I could set it to mail notifications of bad URLs to fink-devel instead of to individual maintainers.
Ah so you meant you want to notify maintainers when you detect invalid MD5s for the source files of a package. Such a thing would be OK I guess. But still the sentence "A command to return the email address of a package's maintainer." rings some alarm bells for me, as it's very vague. As long as it only means "send emails to maintainers about bad MD5" it's fine by me.
