Well, NetNewsWire (one of the most popular client on the Mac) at least has problems and any other feed reader built-in into other sites will have problems as well unless they do not include tons of "quirks mode" code to deal with content not covered by the spec.

NNW does display some news items twice. (updated ones) I am not sure if it is our fault, though, its not twice in the source.

That's because of the ambigous resource URIs given to the <item> elements. I have contacted Brent Simmons, author of NNW, and he pointed me to this originally.

Still one failure on the validator NNW points people at:
http://feedvalidator.org/check?url=http://fink.sf.net/news/news.rdf
I believe may fail because CET is not an RFC822 zone. Apparently only GMT, us timezones, or military differentials are ok.

No this fails because <lastBuildDate> is not part of RSS 1.0 at all as I pointed out before.

feedvalidator.org does a good job in general but is still missing some issues, especially with this feed. All validators suffer from the fact that people too often mix the two different RSS standards in a single feed and therefore try to accept everything which can only fail.
