If you configure Mirror-cpan to "http://backpan.cpan.org/"; you'll get insulation from a module being deleted because a newer version was uploaded and an old one deleted. It's also hourly-current with the latest releases.
That's a pretty fast machine, so you don't need mirrors of it. Perhaps that should be one of the choices in "fink configure". -- Randal L.
