I guess this could be changed to http://backpan.cpan.org/ if that machine holds _every_ availaible CPAN module at any version number (or at least the latets version + let us say 3 versions back)

That's a pretty fast machine, so you don't need mirrors of it.
Yes, but also a single point of failure if we would exept those modules from the distfiles mirror system.

Perhaps that should be one of the choices in "fink configure".
Yes, I agree. As I said, I would suggest we change the Master entry to reflect this machine
