Hello,
where's the proper file to override the setting of MAKEFLAGS globally? Yes, I realize this isn't always a good idea. However, setting it by hand for many packages gets rather tedious. In fact, generally speaking, if I need to override a variable globally, where should I do this? Thanks,
There is no "proper" way to do it, but the way the distcc package does it is to set it in a script in /sw/etc/profile.d/
Keep in mind that building fink packages with distcc enabled (or MAKEFLAGS higher than -j1) is not officially supported. Some packages will break.

If we didn't, we would have made something else be the default. So keep your cotton-pickin' hands off our defaults. Don't touch. Consider them mandatory. "Mandatory defaults" has a nice ring to it.
