I don't get the point. Re-indexing takes some time, that is a known "issue". Until we find someone that is a mysql (since there is no other choice right now as far as I know) expert, who can redesign and speed up the whole process, we will have to live with it :)

As I stated in my reply, reindexing only takes 10-20 seconds (at least in my test runs). I don't understand how it's possible that apparently the regular updates (which are driven by a cron job running from my SF.net account) take so long... I guess I'll have to stop by when one of the regular ones runs and then monitor it.
