There is no issue of placeholders here.
io-stringy-pm has always been an unversioned pkg, and the deps were on that one.
It is very recently that it became versioned, for reasons I don't understand...
Well, whether it was caused by placeholders or not, what we're trying to avoid these days is having the user make a choice of which -pmXXX to install. You're not supposed to have
Depends: foo-pm560 | foo-pm581
Instead, if your package depends on a versioned -pm, then you are either supposed to choose only one of the versions, or else you need to version your package too.
