Shouldn't the ec-fonts-mftraced package depend on system-tetex ?
When I try to install lilypond-unstable, fink installs ec-fonts-mftraced before system-tetex, which makes system-tetex fails (because ec-fonts-mftraced did install things in texmf.local or something). Therefore, I think that system-tetex should be installed *before* ec-fonts-mftraced, which can be achieved by making ec-fonts-mftraced depend on system-tetex. (or tetex-base).
There is another problem: If you install Fink tex packages after system-tetex, you should be aware of the fact that you are actually installing things into /usr/local, because of the the symlinks in /sw/. Also, removing such a tex package afterwards might destroy these symlinks, so that the system-tetex package won't work any more.
IMHO, if you are mixing Fink tex packages with system-tetex, you are basically on your own. It is virtually impossible to keep all the many possibilities organized in a compatible way.
