GCC4 has several new features, including auto vectorization and tree-ssa optimization. It sounds very attractive that fink has gcc4 package.
I have used some cvs/snapshots versions of gcc4 from fsf, including apple-

gcc4 under panther, I don't remember what package(s) was failed though.
Will gcc and g++ be installed as /sw/bin/gcc and /sw/bin/g++, or as /sw/bin/gcc-4
and /sw/bin/g++-4 as apple does, in forthcoming your package?
I think installing as /sw/bin/gcc-4 is safer than /sw/bin/gcc.
