--enable-objc-gc enable the use of Boehm's garbage collector with the GNU Objective-C runtime
but no other options related to objc. Maybe someone can help me out here.
Looks like --enable-threads=posix builds a libobjc-gnu.dylib ... gee, that's obvious, I spotted that right away (NOT!).
