It is reported that "openldap-ssl-dev" and "lammpi-dev" package prevents
the build of OpenOffice.org. In your case, please try this command:

$ fink remove openldap-ssl-dev

.. and build OOo again.

Thank you very much for your assistance. I removed openldap-ssl-dev, and tried again. The build went well past the point where it had failed before, but after 18 hours it failed because there was no more disk space. The /sw/src/openoffice.org-1.9m97-3 folder is huge - over 37 GB. (See attached screen shot). How much free drive space should I need to install openoffice? It seems that much of the space is need to build language files. How can I disable all unneeded languages?

Openoffice is such a huge build that it looks like many users either won't have enough drive space to build it, or enough patience to wait for the build to finish. Even though fink's policy is to only provide binaries for stable packages, perhaps there should be an official fink binary for openoffice, or it should be moved to stable immediately, to allow users to install the binary.

I'll keep using the binary I downloaded, unless I learn that the package has changed to reduce the amount of disk space needed, or unless I purchase another hard drive.

Kevin Horton
