Several packages (at least libgnomeprint2, vte, librsvg2) have recently been reported not to build because of the error mentioned in the subject. This is caused by a bug in gtk-doc version 1.3. I have committed a fix to cvs and mention this only for the record (to fink-devel as the "maintainer" of gtk-doc):

The gtkdoc-mkdb script has a function, ironically named "CreateValidSGMLID" that does

Append ":CAPS" to all all-caps identifiers

In gtk-doc-1.2 it appended "-CAPS" which, according to the ChangeLog, was changed to ":CAPS" in order to fix a bug (!).

Unfortunately, the companion script gtkdoc-mkhtml was not told about this change and declares ":" illegal. I have changed the list of allowed characters to include ":".

Martin,

I'm puzzled that I didn't have that trouble, with none
of the 3 mentioned pkgs, nor (grepping through /sw/var/logs)
with any other one.
In all 3 cases, 'Building HTML' went w/o a hitch, and the
corresponding html dir is well populated and completely usable.
And those are recent builds, with an unaltered gtk-doc-1.3-11.

And from your description, I don't see how either UFS
or other local peculiarities could matter...

You have any idea ?
