Hi - I would definitely be interested in such a tool and more than happy
to test.

To the occasional contributor (that would be me) the CLI is just
fine but there is that feeling of dabbling in unfamiliar territories,
permanently.

I rarely use Fink Commander to do much more than browse the repository and
pass fink commands to the CLI but this just demonstrate how a GUI can
rightly or wrongly dispel the feeling of uneasiness.

I haven't had much time to work on the project, unfortunately. I kinda got stuck at the point how to read in files that are write- protected (they are greyed out in an open file dialog). TextWrangler for instance has a way around that, so of course it should be possible.

Anyway, I will try to revitalize the project and see what I can come up with. I just purchased 'Cocoa Programming' by Anguish, Buck and Yacktman, I am sure the answer is somewhere hidden in there :)

Any Cocoa programmers out there who would like to help out?

cheers,

- Koen.
