Hm, in this case the new pcre package would obsolete the existing pcre++

A C++ wrapper is now included with pcre, though I couldn't guarantee that it's a drop-in replacement.

I would be glad if I could get rid of pcre++, since I'm not actively
maintaining the package anymore. Also, I haven't ever heard of anybody who
uses it...
