Hmmm...on my system arb creates a symbolic link /sw/share/arb/lib/bin -> /sw/bin You could try resetting ARBHOME manually, e.g. under bash: export ARBHOME=/sw/share/arb/lib to match the symlink, and so then $ARBHOME/bin would point to the right place. The other option to try, if that doesn't work, would be to put in a different symlink: sudo ln -s /sw/bin /sw/share/arb/bin and keep ARBHOME the same. I'm not actually shure which approach is needed (since I'm not a user of the package myself), but clearly there appears to be a disjunction between ARBHOME and that convenience symlink.
