Because you didn't provide your OS version I can only give you an
approximate answer.

You should try the binary version of graphviz, via

sudo apt-get install graphviz=1.16-1013

if you're on 10.5, or

sudo apt-get install graphviz=1.16-1012]

if you're on 10.4 .
