to install was libcaca [actually, second, after aalib which had almost

That's, uh, that's quite the list. I count at least four completely
separate UI toolkits, at least one extra C compiler, cd ripping
libraries, an open source matlab replacement. A web browser,
intepreters/compilers for at least five or six different languages. All
stuff that, off the top of my head, I would imagine aren't necessary for
a little library that renders text in color.

I do understand how dependencies stack up, but I think something here
has gone outta whack in order for it to be quite this huge... I suspect
that it mostly traces back to a single gnome dependency somewhere, but I
don't know how I'd go about getting a more useful looking tree than
that?
