A little further investigation reveals that it's actually graphviz that has the truly fearsome dependency list, from which all others derive. And of course, graphviz is listed as a dependency in doxygen. lefty:~ chunky$ sudo apt-get install doxygen=1.3.4-1005 Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done The following extra packages will be installed: doxygen expat-shlibs graphviz tcltk tcltk-shlibs The following NEW packages will be installed: doxygen expat-shlibs graphviz tcltk tcltk-shlibs 0 packages upgraded, 5 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. [Y/n] There's still a few scary ones in there [libthai?], but it's a lot better overall. And doing a "fink update-all" suggests that doxygen and graphviz both need to be updated, bringing back the original scary list. But thankfully, I at least have a functioning doxygen now.
