Me for myself I use an icewm with four workspaces, but it
works only on XFree apps. I didn't found any application
that would allow me several workspaces within Aqua.

No, it won't! Aqua applications would keep their original
style.
But sometimes I have really problems separating the Aqua
apps and the XFree apps using the icewm's Aqua-theme ;-)

That is no problem. Use the application called "open", e.g.
$ open /Applications/iTunes.app
You can also use it for opening documents, like
$ open my.pdf
and it will start the Acrobat Reader with this PDF-File.
One further hint: if you set the environment variable
DISPLAY :0.0 on your Apple-Terminal you can also start XFree
applications from there.
