I too don't experience any slowness logging into my MacOSX box with ssh.
One other thing to look at: If you have X11 forwarding on (check your
sshd_config file) it will run xauth at login (check your .Xauthority
file in your home dir). If it can't find xauth (should be in
/usr/X11R6/bin) or there is some other problem with it, that could
account for the delay.
