Changing the filename to match the version that's available under fink doesn't always work. It's better to
1) Try to locate the file. Usually the correct version of the file is on the download site in some other directory. Download it, and move it to /sw/src, then proceed with the 'fink install' 2) Email the package maintainer (listed when you do a 'fink describe <package>') directly, and let them know that the download URL is obsolete. You should have gimp as /sw/bin/gimp . Try opening a new terminal window, or do a 'rehash' . -- Alexander K.
