At this point in time, did you have Xtools installed?

If you don't have Xtools installed, then the package isn't going to work,
because the necessary files are missing, right?

Have a look at the following commands:

'fink info system-xfree86'
'fink info system-xtools'

They should provide all the information you need about the packages.

You only need to install system-xtools if you have a prior installation of
Xtools. You only need to install system-xfree86 if you have a manual
installation of XFree86 (not through Fink).

*sigh* ... The easiest way to clean up the mess is just remove /usr/X11R6 as
root... Then you can just re-install XFree86 from Fink, and it should be
fixed...
