What does 'which gettext' give you? If it doesn't return /sw/bin/gettext then you will probably want to rename the file that is returned (e.g. /usr/local/bin/gettext) to something else and try again.
If you do get back /sw/bin/gettext then try rebuilding gettext, and then rebuild glib2. -- Alexander K.
