OK, after encountering some dpkg errors in upgrading the KDE bundles, I decided to just install a fresh copy of fink since I did not have too much stuff anyway.
I did a "sudo rm -rf /sw", but the /sw/share/terminfo/c directory would not go away saying that directory is not empty. It won't go away even in single-user mode. I then tried re-installing fink, and my machine crashed. The fink installer complained it could not create some links. Has anyone else seen this? I am beginning to suspect a file system corruption, but everything else (outside /sw) is running just fine. I ran fsck in single-user mode and got a message saying there was an invalid sibling link. I ran fsck multiple times and got the same error. Is there any other option I can run fsck with to fix this? Or maybe somebody can recommend a drive repair utility? I also recently upgraded to MacOS X 10.1.5. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Any help would be appreciated.
