I have tried to install readline with both dselect and apt, and it does
not install. I keep getting the following message:

Setting up readline (4.2a-4) ...
usage: install [-cps] [-f flags] [-m mode] [-o owner] [-g group] [-l
linkflags] [-S stripflags] file1 file2
       install [-cps] [-f flags] [-m mode] [-o owner] [-g group] [-l
linkflags] [-S stripflags] file1 ... fileN directory
install -pd [-m mode] [-o owner] [-g group] directory ...
dpkg: error processing readline (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 readline

installation script returned error exit status 100.

Also, I have removed the offending readline package from /sw including
the readline.list files, so it would purge properly from the dselect
list, but I still can not install readline. Does anyone know what the
problem is?
