I would really like a way to figure out what *new* packages have been 
added to the unstable and stable branches since the last time I 
studied the web pages.

How about a web page (or function inside fink) where you could enter 
a date, select stable, unstable or binary distributions, and get a 
list of new packages that have been added since that date?  Every 
time I go through the list of packages, I find new stuff I'm 
interested in, but I would like an easy way to zero in on the new 
stuff.
