I'm sorry, did somebody suggest killing off the Fink port when I wasn't looking? I have no idea how well the carbon port works with other traditional Unix apps, because when I've used it I had absolutely no need of such a feature. It does add some very nice Mac-like features, such as being able to drag-and-drop plots to files and being able to generate Quicktime movies.
