Ok, whatever, if it makes sense to you have at it. I still see little gain but if it sounds like fun go try to write it, and let us know if it works. I still think it's too much work for too little gain -- especially given all the questions about whether PPC has a future. Will your emulator run within user space? If so then an architecture switch might not hurt you, but you can expect it to run slowly. If however it runs in the kernel and has to poke at the hardware, then a processor switch will hurt if Apple moves to something else (Intel, IBM/PPC, whatever) and your optimized emulator was tuned to run on Motorola/PPC. How likely is a processor switch? Beats me.
