To summarize: 1) 10.2.1, August Tools, latest fink from cvs 2) I do in fact have imlib(-shlibs)-1.9.10-9 installed, and have rebuilt/reinstalled them several times. imlib-config does exist on my system. 3) Nevertheless, when I try to update kuickshow (i.e. kdegraphics3), I get messages to the effect that I don't have imlib installed.
from the build log: ... checking for freetype-config... /sw/bin/freetype-config libraries -: command not found, headers : command not foundype2 -I/sw/include nonfigure: r imlib-config... configure: --I interpret this to be 'command not found: imlib-config' glommed into the output for freetype-config ... You're missing Imlib 1.x. The graphics browser/viewer KuickShow won't be compiled without Imlib. You can download it from http://freshmeat.net/redir/imlib/4385/url_tgz/imlib-1.9.10.tar.gz ... from the config.log: ... configure:25403: checking for imlib-config configure:25445: result: no ... So I conclude that for some reason the config process for kdegraphics3-3.0.7-3 misses seeing imlib-config on my system. By comparison, I ran a rebuild of eterm, which also wants imlib, and imlib-config showed right up: ... checking for imlib-config... imlib-config checking imlib-config for the value of CFLAGS... -g -O2 -I/sw/include -I/usr/X11R6/include checking imlib-config for the value of GRLIBS... -lImlib -L/sw/lib -lImlib -L/sw/lib -ljpeg -ltiff -lgif -lpng -lz -lm -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lSM -lICE -lXext -lX11 ... The upshot is that kuickshow can't be built, which causes the build process for all of kdegraphics3 to crap out. Unfortunately, kdegraphics3 is at the front of my 'update-all' queue. -- Alexander K.
