This leads to a comment about the fink website documentation.
At the fink website <http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/bundled/usage.php> documentation for the list command, it says "This command produces a list of available packages, listing installation status, the latest version and a short description."
When I ran fink list, it showed 3.1.1-2. After I ran selfupdate-cvs it showed 3.1.1-3. Evidently, the simple fink list command didn't show the latest version.
This suggests that the documentation for list at <http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/bundled/usage.php> would be improved by a cross-reference to the documentation for selfupdate-cvs at <http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/cvsaccess/index.php>.
It also suggests another FAQ, which is to _always_ run selfupdate-cvs before doing anything, because I had done so only a few days before.
Thanks again

But fink still lists 3.1.1-2, so what gives?you need to 'fink selfupdate-cvs' and get the new one.Is this a stable vs. unstable thing?Nope. 3.1.1 has never been released to stable. In addition to which, it doesn't install successfully (for me, anyway)Of course, that's because that's the bug I fixed in -3. =)
