Arrrgggh! The problem is even more insidious. The X11
"application" is trapping some command-key combinations for its
own menus. Unfortunately, one of those is CMD-x (for Edit>Cut).

Again, I appeal to those in the know -- is there a way I can
convince Fink's Emacs to use the 'Option' key instead of the
Command key for Meta? (Is this a FAQ somewhere?)
