A couple of things: Did you set up your environment as in the fink faq for compiling packages yourself (i.e. setting env variables in your .cshrc)? I kinda doubt you did or it would have seen gtk+2 and gtkspell would have seen the parts of aspell it needs. Did you look at the fink package patch? Did you look at the fink .info file to see how the fink package works?

I think I did manage to just compile and install aspell 0.50.2 from source, but still same error, that it cant find the dev libraries when compiling gtkspell..
