I have system-ghostscript 7.05-3 installed. When I try to install gv, I get:
The following package will be installed or updated: gv The following additional package will be installed: system-ghostscript Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
If I say "yes", it tries to downgrade my system-ghostscript to 6.01-1:
dpkg - warning: downgrading system-ghostscript from 7.05-3 to 6.01-1.
This fails, telling me that I don't have ghostscript 6.01 installed (which is correct, I have 7.05). The downgrading didn't happen (last week) when I did the same thing on another machine.
One more piece of information: in Fink Commander, if I ask for info on the system-ghostscript package, it tells me
Installed: 7.05-3 Unstable: 6.01-1 Stable: 7.05-3 Binary: None
This (the unstable) does not agree with the fink webpage; I don't know where it is getting this information.
Has something gotten corrupted in my fink installation, and how can I fix it?
Thanks.
Karl
