I am trying to compile r-base ("fink install r-base")

I am using fink 0.5.1 with the fink-0.12.0-1 package manager. Before
"fink install r-base" I did "fink selfupdate cvs". This is on a dual
1GHz-G4 running OS X 10.2.3. The installation is all fink, no Apple
X11. I have the October 2002 Developer Tools.

The error I get from "fink install r-base" is as follows (the last few
lines only). Any pointers on what I'm doing wrong would be
appreciated! I'm not very familiar with trying to compile complex
packages, so I may be missing something obvious -- sorry. I did
search the fink-user archives, and saw discussion of other r-base
compile errors, but not this one.

Thanks in advance,
Prahlad
