bash-2.05b$ gnuplot
Word too long.
Running this from bash won't help here, because /sw/bin/gnuplot is a csh shell script. Does it help if you change the first line in /sw/bin/gnuplot from "#!/bin/csh" to "#!/bin/csh -f" ?
It does indeed. It now launches fine.
