I am trying to run gnucash with a german user interface (and therefore: a german translation for all the financial terms which is important) after having it installed using fink and Apple's X11 beta 3.
gnucash is supposed to start up when the environment variable LANG is properly set (when I switch my OSX environment to be german, the LANG variable is set to de_de).
Unfortunately, gnucash never comes up in german. On launch it reports a
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
but this message is being displayed _ALWAYS_, even if LANG is set to "en".
Can anybody explain how the locale system works under OS X and what I can do to properly indicate my langauge preference to gnucash?
